Q. Why my ringtones made from iTunes tracks can't play?

A: Please check the format of you song. Tracks purchased and downloaded from iTunes are in a AAC or M4P audio format, but Liltone currently supports MP3 and WAV files only. Please convert your music file to MP3 format and UPLOAD your music file again.

Q. How do I convert a iTunes track to mp3 format?

A. Please follow the instruction below:

Burn the track to an audio CD or burn the track using a virtual CD software, such as CD Emulator, which eliminates the need for real CD-R discs and works like a real CD-ROM.
Open the CD or virtual CD in iTunes.
Click on the "Edit" menu, choose "Preferences", click on the "Advanced" tab, "Importing tab underneath it.
Change the "Import Using" score-down menu from the default setting to "MP3 Encoder". (see image below)
Click OK to save this setting
Right-click on a music track in iTunes
Choose option “Convert Selection to MP3”

Note: you'll have 2 copies of that song in iTunes. (one in the original AAC format and one in MP3 format). Upload the .MP3 version back to LilTone, and it should work fine this time.

Convert .RAX Files to MP3 Music Ringtones

Burn the .RAX tracks to an audio CD: In RealPlayer click "Burn/Transfer".
Insert the newly burned CD in your CD/DVD drive, then select "Play or save music from audio CD using Real Player with RealPlayer"
In RealPlayer, a pop-up message would appeal: "The tracks on this CD have not been saved to My Library, Would you like Real Player to save these tracks now?" Click Yes
RealPlayer would automatically save the tracks in MP3 format on your hard drive. You can also click on "Options" and select MP3 to make sure the tracks are being converted to MP3s.

For example, Switch is an Australian-produced freeware application, which has Windows and Mac version available. Here is the instruction for using Switch to convert audio files into mp3 format on Windows:

Open Switch program.
Click the "Add Files" button or press Alt+A on your keyboard to add audio files for conversion.
Specified the destination on your disk in "Output Folder".
Select ".mp3" as your output format.
Click the "Convert" button.
