A. We need to verify your cellphone number to make sure that you are the rightful owner of the cellphone.

Q. What does LilTone user the cellphone numbers for?

A. Your cellphone number will always be kept private. We only use your cellphone to send you ringtone download links on you requests.

Q. I can't sign-up?

A. Please make sure that your password is 8 characters or longer with at least one number and one letter. Ex. john386w

Q. I can't log-in?

A. Please note that the “Log-in” name is your 10-digit cellphone number. The password is the new password you had created yourself, NOT the SMS verification Code.

Q. So what's the “Display Name” for?

A. “Display Name” is what other LilTone users will see you as, kind of like MSN screen name, or MySpace User Name.

Q: How do I find the Start-Point of the ringtone?

A: Play the song with another music player such as Windows Media Player, QuickTime, or I-tune.

Q. How long can I make my ringtone?

A. Liltone Ringtone Wizard allows up to 30 seconds per ringtone, in one-second increments. So, you can pick any length between 1 to 30 seconds.

Q. What do I do after I finish creating the ringtone?

A. Your ringtones are stored together at your "My Liltone" Page. Click the My Lil'Tone tab above to review and download your ringtones.

Q. Does Liltone Ringtone Wizard support international language?

A. No, the Ringtone Wizard currently only accept standard English format. Please simply change your file name to English prior to ringtone upload. (Right-click on your song file name and select "Rename"

Q. It give me an error message: "A critical error has occurred. Object reference not set to an instance of an object". What do I do?

A. We are working hard to make the Ringtone Wizard Beta work more consistently for you. Try the following for now:

• Refresh the browser; re-upload the song and select tone length again.
• At the Select Tone Length part: skip the Preview button, and click on “Finish”.
• Come back to Liltone.com a little bit later. There may be too many users trying to access the site at this time.
  

Q. How long does it take to upload a ringtone?

A. Most standard MP3 songs can be uploaded in about one minute. However, depending on your file size and internet speed, it could take longer.

Q. Will my ringtone cause a call to transfer to voice mail quicker than usual?

A. No, most phones will automatically loop your ringtone until your answer the call or transfer to voicemail as previously set on your cellphone. Ex. if your typical ring time is 30 seconds and your ringtone is 15 seconds, your phone will simply play the ringtone twice until the call goes to voice mail.

Q. How do I download a free ringtone from LilTone?

A. Go to “My LilTone” page. Click on “Download” button on any selected ringtone.

Q. What type of ringtones can I download from LilTone?

A. You can download anything you have created yourself. Or, other ringtones created by other LilTone users who granted copyright distribution on LilTone.com.

Q. What happens after I click on the Download Ringtone button?

A. Step 1 : Open up our text message sent directly to your mobile phone.

Ex. alert@liltone.com / Your Lil Tone can be downloaded from: http://www.liltone.com/uploadedfiles/11_32.mp3

Step 2 : You would want to open up the download link directly from you mobile device.

Ex. for Motorola Razr, Slvr: hit “menu” and score down to click “GoTo”. You phone should automatically opens up and download from the Liltone.com download link.

Q. Why my ringtones made from iTunes tracks can't play?

A: Please check the format of you song. Tracks purchased and downloaded from iTunes are in a AAC or M4P audio format, but Liltone currently supports MP3 and WAV files only. Please convert your music file to MP3 format and UPLOAD your music file again.

Q. How do I convert a iTunes track to mp3 format?

A. Please follow the instruction below:

• Burn the track to an audio CD or burn the track using a virtual CD software, such as CD Emulator, which eliminates the need for real CD-R discs and works like a real CD-ROM.
• Open the CD or virtual CD in iTunes.
• Click on the "Edit" menu, choose "Preferences", click on the "Advanced" tab, "Importing tab underneath it.
• Change the "Import Using" score-down menu from the default setting to "MP3 Encoder". (see image below)
  
• Click OK to save this setting
• Right-click on a music track in iTunes
• Choose option “Convert Selection to MP3”

Note: you'll have 2 copies of that song in iTunes. (one in the original AAC format and one in MP3 format). Upload the .MP3 version back to LilTone, and it should work fine this time.
